With dialogue and dialogue tags I think that's really helpful. But ultimately I think this is the best piece of advice, "The best hint or tip or words of advice I can come up with is don’t take too much of it as gospel. If a bit of advice rings true, take it, or whatever part that makes sense, and make it your own."
