When Writers Play

- from Susan

Today is April Fools Day but this is no joke. I was with a few hundred other authors and an equal number of fans in Vancouver, BC all last week. I did not write, not a word on either of my works in progress, and not a blog for today. So, here's something offered for fun: Seven active Minds and one alumnus, off - most of us - to have lunch and talk about all the writing we weren't doing!

Since Cathy Ace (in the middle) was the toastmaster of the event and since Catriona (in red) was to interview Cathy - and would later win another award for her own writing - it was a stellar group. Oh, I should mention that Terry (blue top) and Jim (behind Terry) were finalists for the best novel Leftie award. This is a classy, accomplished group, yes?

It looks like you had a great time, Susan. I'm really sorry I missed the lunch. And missed seeing you the whole four days too. Maybe it's time for new specs.

It was lovely to meet you Susan and the rest of the Criminal Minds. Dietrich - so sorry to have missed you. It would have been great to reconnect. Next time!

Sorry to have missed you, Dietrich. It's easy in those crowds.
